California Plumbing Speed Optimization
A client approached me with a WordPress/Elementor website that was extremely slow. Pages were taking almost 8–10 seconds to load, and this was creating multiple problems. Their Core Web Vitals were failing on PageSpeed Insights, bounce rate was getting worse day by day, and the CTR in search results had also dropped because users didn’t want to wait for the site to load. In short, the site’s poor performance was directly hurting both traffic and conversions.
𝐌𝐲 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡:
The first step was to run a complete performance audit. I used Google PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, GTMetrix, and a few server-level checks to identify what was slowing the site down. The biggest issues I found were: Elementor was loading a lot of unused CSS and JS across all pages, images were large and uncompressed, the hosting was on a basic shared plan with no caching or CDN, and there were unnecessary third-party scripts running on every page. On top of that, the database was bloated with thousands of revisions.
